Royal Brinkman and ViewNetic Team Up

Dr. Jake Holley

Horticultural supplier Royal Brinkman and ViewNetic, an AI-based crop monitoring system, have announced a strategic commercial collaboration. After two years of joint marketing and testing, these companies are now working together to offer growers a more proactive approach to crop protection.

ViewNetic’s monitoring system features a small, automated camera mounted on a streamlined body that gently pushes through the canopy of vine crops like peppers. It captures detailed images of leaves, especially the undersides, where most pests tend to hide. These images are uploaded for growers to view, with AI processing that highlights pest pressure by location.

The system is mounted on a standard cart designed to fit within the typical heat pipe setups used by scissor lifts. Beyond pest detection, it can also identify beneficial insects, helping growers track trends of both pests and helpful insects over time.

Royal Brinkman complements ViewNetic’s technology by providing the essential support needed to turn monitoring insights into actionable steps within a grower’s standard operating procedures. Together, they aim to enhance crop monitoring and pest control in greenhouses.
